Self-Care For 2018

From one inspired community to another, we wish you a Happy New Year’s Eve and a Happy New Year! May 2018 be a year of understanding, hope and more welcoming warmth than before. The biggest lesson we learned this year was about self-care.

Don’t see this as the time to make immediate resolutions, instead pace yourself and allow more time to take care of yourself. If we learned anything from 2017 it was to become more aware of our own lives, how we treat our own bodies and that self-care is an issue. If we work on these things, we can easily change everything around us.

Self-Care 101: Take a moment for reflection and practice gratitude.

A few self-care tips:

  • Take time to read only one chapter from a book you’ve been meaning to read
  • Turn your phone on silent before bed
  • Take a warm bubble bath
  • Drink a cup of tea or hot cocoa
  • Do some light exercise like Yoga or Tai Chi
  • Meditate for 5 minutes every day before starting your day
  • Aromatherapy
  • List 7 things you are grateful for in your life
  • Since it’s Winter, enjoy watching the snowfall

Self-care is also about becoming mindful, living in the present moment and taking the initiative to live the very best life you’ve always wanted.
