Is love just a four letter word? Or does it hold meaning and significance to you?
As you know, we are in the month of February: the love month. People will spend billions of dollars to show their special someone a bold expression of their love.
Others sink into depression as this time of year reminds them of how lonely they are. Whatever part of the spectrum you are on, I want to encourage you to move beyond the hype and open your heart to love in a new way.
Here are a few lessons I have learned about the power of love.
The Importance Of Love: Life Lessons
1. Love must flow from a pure heart.
When your heart is closed, love has no way of entering it. You have to cleanse your heart from everyone that has wounded you—to identify past pain so that it does not impact your future.
When your heat is pure, you can to love without conditions. The power of love–unconditional love–is that it allows you to live an authentic life and to enjoy meaningful relationships. Until I addressed the issues of my heart, I was inhibited from experiencing a higher quality of life. Toxicity cannot hide in a pure heart.

2. Love is always willing to sacrifice.
I know that this concept is very contrary to the culture that we live in today. We are constantly inundated with images that remind us that we are to live with a “me, myself, and I philosophy.”
I tried to live my life this way at one time. It was so painful and pathetic. I noticed that I was repelling great relationships in my life. I was miserable, and I knew that something had to change.
It’s important to keep yourself in mind. However, when you take it too far, you live with a selfish mindset, and you miss out on powerful connections.
The reality is that you need people and without people you will never fulfill your purpose or maximize your potential. Love causes us to sacrifice for a greater purpose. We give up our self-ambitions and desires and embrace the significance of new associations in our lives. You will never discover true significance without sacrificing for others.
3. Love will check your ego.
The ego is one of the greatest enemies to your destiny. Every time I was ready to embrace the next level in life, my ego would always get in the way.
Again, it’s important to go after your dreams. However, the ego is the part of us that wants what it wants, and it does not care who or what is damaged as long as the desire is fulfilled.
When you see this attitude show up in your life, you need to adjust. You know you have a sick heart when you pursue success at the expense of hurting and wounding others.
A healthy heart is not willing to wound others in order to win. When you are truly developed, you will not pursue desires that destroy others.
4. Love is a powerful force.
While eloquent worlds and sophisticated solutions are great, nothing can substitute for unconditional love. No other force in the world has the ability to penetrate the most hardened heart.
No other force in this universe has the power to heal humanity. Nothing else has the power to destroy the seed of hate and unite humanity for a great purpose.
Love is the greatest force in the world. Whatever you attempt in life always attempt it with love. Discover the power of love!
